Happy Sunday, happy holidays, happy new year 🎉🎊🎆. and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for and as the day fades away, am raring to go with my stepping activities of the day including some of the trending stories I came across. We are onto 2024 in few minutes and am feeling grateful, thank you for being here and let's get cracking 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was a short walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the mall for some groceries. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day. People were busy getting ready for 2024 in churches, bars and the like. We look forward to a wonderful year especially in crypto💯.
Globally, things are still the same in Gaza. Israeli forces fighting with Hamas fighters in ground operations🙀.
Deir Al Balah in eastern Gaza was heavily bombed in the early hours of Sunday🙀. Deaths reported😭.
The WFP says people in Gaza are facing imminent famine. There's desperate need for food and water in many areas😿.
Not far off, at least ten houthi fighters targeting ships in the Red Sea, have been killed in attack by US military🙀. US forces opened fire and sank three houthi boats ⛵ attacking a container ship in the red sea.
Trending in Europe, the queen of Denmark, Margrethe has announced abdication on live TV. She has reigned for 52 years and will be replaced by her son on 14 January.
Finally it's fireworks 🎆🧨 around the world as 2024 dawns on us. Bangkok, Thailand. Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia and Dubai have kicked off 2024 with spectacular displays of fireworks.
In Nairobi some tall buildings are about to fire off fireworks as midnight strikes🎉🎊.
