Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I am definitely grateful for this day💯.So it's been another wonderful day and it's about that time to slow down, get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's begin 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite cloudy the entire day even as I walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Today was a public holiday marking 60 years since independence from the British. Definitely many things have changed for the better but poverty and inequality still exist.
Also trending, Kenya becomes the second african country after Rwanda to allow visa free entry to travellers starting Jan 2024. It doesn't matter what country you come from, everyone will enter Kenya without visa restriction. That was the president's announcement.
This to encourage tourists and attract investors too, Nairobi is the only capital with a national park. You can disembark your flight and directly head into safari in the national park checking out all manner of wild animals in their natural habitat.
You could also opt for warmer weather at the Kenyan coast, wonderful whitesand beaches with breath taking views await you. The hospitality is world class with accommodation available from five star to simple air b n bs. There is free WiFi in many places with internet speed you won't believe. Ok, that's enough😹.
Globally, Gaza still trending as Israel continued to target various locations with bombs🙀. At one such location, 20 Palestinians killed after a residential building was struck in southern city of Rafa😭. More people feared trapped under rubble of that building😿.
Also trending, WHO says fewer than one third of Gaza's hospitals are able to function. Speaking of hospitals, Israeli forces stormed Kamal Adwan hospital in north Gaza after laying siege to it for days 🙀.
Across the pond in the US, UN general assembly is to hold emergency meeting after Egypt and Mauritania invoked resolution 377A.
They invoked the rarely used article after the US vetoed resolution on immediate Gaza ceasefire.
Also trending, US president Biden has warned Israeli govt is starting to lose international support due to indiscriminate bombings of innocent civilians. He made the comment at a campaign fundraising event in Washington. This is especially true as the Palestinian death toll hit 18,412 with over 50,000 injured, some with life threatening injuries🙀.
Finally, Ukrainian president continued his US trip. Political shenanigans 😹 as republicans will not approve military aid to Ukraine unless democrats back a deal on border security👀. Something's gotta give as Ukraine needs that support more than ever.
