Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, we are just a few days to the X-mas season and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some youtube and X which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹, kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, Gaza keeps sinking into the abyss as death toll soars😿.The death toll has topped 18,000. Israel is keeping up the bombings, Gaza's Al Fukari is dangerously overcrowded as Israel pushes people further south🙀.
Israel's defence minister says Israel is very close to achieving it's goals in northern Gaza, asking Hamas fighters to surrender immediately.
Also trending, Ukrainian president, Zelensky has headed to the US to try rescue $60 billion package. It's his third time in Washington, and his visit comes with the said aid package mired in US domestic politics.
Trending in Europe, the Polish parliament has given former prime minister Donald Tusk a mandate to form a new coalition govt🎊.the incoming administration will be sworn in by at the presidential palace by president Duda on Wednesday. Congratulations 🎉.
In Russia, imprisoned opposition leader, Alexei Navalny has been removed from penal colony where he was serving his sentence and his whereabouts are unknown🙀. Lets hope all is well💯.
Finally, the COP28 summit came to an end in Dubai. Environmental organizations have criticized the final draft deal for being too weak on fossil fuels. The promise to phase out fossil fuels has been removed🙀.
I guess someone wants to keep drilling and selling us oil n gas😹.
Almost 200 countries have representatives at that summit; they all must agree or the deal collapses.
It's a well-known fact that humans burning fossil fuels are driving global warming, risking millions of lives. However, govts have never collectively agreed to stop using them. Let's hope a date or timeframe will be set on when we can start phasing out fossil fuels💯.
And heal mother earth from years of damage.
