Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully you have had or are having a great day💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get grinding 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before the evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, all eyes 👀 on Gaza Israel war. Israel continued it's unrelenting attacks on southern Gaza. Israeli tanks pushed into Khan Younis, the tanks are stationed on the outskirts of the city.
In northern Gaza, Israeli army is having ground fights with Hamas fighters. So far Gaza health ministry says 16, 248 Palestinians have been killed and over 40,000 injured since the war began😭. Literally no where is safe for civilians, slowly turning into hell on earth 😿.
This has forced UN secretary general Antonio Guterez to push the panic button. He has invoked article 99 of the UN charter in a letter to the president of UN security council. Its the first time he has invoked article 99 since he took role of secretary general in 2017. In the letter he added that the international community has a responsibility to use all it's influence.
In Europe, president Zelensky is speaking out as the much anticipated counter offensive against Russia appears to have stalled🙀. The US and EU are struggling to agree fresh financial and weapons aid. And the world's attention is now diverted by the Israel Gaza war😿.
Finally, escorted by four fighter jets, Russian president Vladimir Putin has made a rare one-day lightning tour to the middle east during which he visited Saudi Arabia after a short trip to the UAE🙀. I wonder what that was about 😹.
