Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's a new week and the stepping continued unabated. Please keep reading 👓 as I fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for being here and let's take it away 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. I did enjoy that fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹, today was a national holiday for tree 🌲 planting. The govt aiming to plant 100 million trees over the next few years.
Globally, Gaza still in the news. Nearly all hospitals in Gaza city are out of service as Israeli troops lay siege. Shelling and explosions as heavy fighting erupts at Al Quds hospital🙀.
Then an entire family have been killed and several people injured in an Israeli strike on a residential building in Khan Younis in the south😭. Israel had told Palestinians to move to the south to avoid the bombs😿.
Also trending, Israeli army deleted posts in which it stated that hospitals are legitimate military targets. Israeli army maintains that Hamas have command centres under hospitals🙀. Doctors and medical staff have disputed those allegations.
Trending in the UK. David Cameron has made a dramatic comeback to govt in a major cabinet reshuffle. The former prime minister has been appointed foreign secretary.
Across the pond in the US, the UN has paid tribute to 101 UNRWA staff killed in Gaza😭. That's the highest staff loss the UN has lost in one war since its existence. Flags at UN offices around the world will fly at half mast.
Finally, in crazy weather, flooding reported in parts of northern Kenya. Homes and crops destroyed but all's well that ends well, everything will be alright💯.
