Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Just another ordinary Sunday and the stepping continued unabated. As always I am truly happy and grateful for this day💯,many wanted to see it but didn't, so we are indeed blessed. Many people have died in the middle east as the war rages, they too had plans for this Sunday😭.
So thank you for being here yet again and before bedtime, let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also some of the trending stories. Here we go again, come on 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was a short walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the mall for some groceries and window shopping😹. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news, There were some interesting matches in the EPL just like yesterday.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹; then celebrations in Kenya as a Kenyan athlete, Kelvin Kiptum, broke the world marathon record in the Chicago marathon. The previous record by Eliud Kipchoge was 2 hours one minute but Kelvin today crossed the finishing line at 2 hours, 35 seconds🎉. Congratulations 👏 to him🎊🥳.
Globally, Israel still trending as the military fights to drive out Hamas militants from Israeli towns close to Gaza. The fighters have infiltrated these areas, killing and taking Israelis hostage🙀. Lots of rockets are still being shot into Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli army is launching repeated air and artillery strikes across Gaza strip. These strikes have destroyed several highrise buildings in Gaza city. There are talks of a ground invasion of Israeli forces going into Gaza🙀.
Across the pond in the US, Pentagon says the US will send munitions to Israel and boost forces in the region.
The US is also moving an aircraft carrier and other ships to the eastern Mediterranean.
In New York, UN security council is holding an emergency closed door meeting discussing the Gaza/Israel conflict.
Finally, emergency teams in Afghanistan are racing to rescue people from the rubble left by a powerful earthquake that struck the west of the country. Hundreds of people are feared dead after the 6.3 magnitude quake hit villages in Herat province😭.
With communication down and many roads blocked, rescue workers are struggling to reach remote areas. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families😭. It's definitely going to be tough these first few days😿.
