Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, reading a few stuff before bedtime. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day.
Not so quiet in neighboring Uganda as the opposition leader, Bobi Wine was arrested just after landing from Canada🙀. This to prevent a gathering and procession of his supporters. Now currently under house arrest. We have a dictator next door who has been ruling for many years 😹.
Globally, Ukraine trending as 52 people were killed in a Russian drone strike at a village in Kharkiv🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭. That village has about three hundred people meaning a sixth of the village has been killed😡.
Meanwhile president Zelensky was in Malaga Spain attending a summit at which he called for more support to help fight Russia terming that attack as a terrorist attack on innocent civilians who were not living close to any military establishment.
Speaking of bomb attacks, Syria trending as attack on a military graduation in Homs, killed 80 people 😭. No one claimed responsibility, however the govt bombarded rebel held areas in Idlib after that attack.
Turkey has been hitting some areas in Syria in response to the PKK attack in Ankara.
Let's go across the pond to the US. The Biden administration is coming under increasing pressure from republicans to slow migrant arrivals that have soared to 6,000 people daily🙀. Biden has now approved a new border wall😹, something he had said he wouldn't do. Walls don't keep people out😸.
In the same vein, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is in Mexico to discuss that migrant issue, drugs and guns. I hear there's a new drug called fentanyl that's highly traded and quite lethal😿. Let's hope lasting solutions can be reached💯.
Finally in crazy weather, landslides and flooding reported in India's north east Sikkim state. A dam broke washing away people's homes and damaged infrastructure🙀. In other news, scientists say 2023 is on track to be the warmest year this far, this after we went through the hottest September.
So that's it, do check me out yet again tomorrow on an amazing high five Friday 🙌. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max 💯. Nothing much to add but bid you adieu 💖💞💖 Take care, Hakuna Matata.
