Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. We are bang in the middle of the month 😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a nice day.
Not a nice day in Libya as the rescue operations went on in the flood devastated region of Derna. It looks like a warzone, and dead bodies being discovered under the rubble, some washing up ashore🙀.
There are fears of waterborne diseases.
The good thing is that Libyans are coming together to help as much as possible even though the country has got two rival governments😿.
Next door in Morocco, the earthquake rescue operations still underway even as hopes fade to find survivors. People are grappling with their losses and how to start rebuilding their lives😭. Today some after shock tremors were felt in some areas 🙀.
Across the pond in the US, Biden trending as his son Hunter, was indicted on three federal firearms charges in a long running probe🙀.
Hunter Biden has been charged in the first ever prosecution of a sitting US president's child. Accusations against him include concealing his drug addiction while buying a gun. He has also been under investigation for his business dealings and failing to pay taxes🙀.
Further down, Brazil supreme court sentenced first defendant in Jan 8 insurrection trial to 17 years in prison🙀. Lucio Pereira was on trial for crimes including armed criminal association and attempted coup. Supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro invaded and vandalized Congress after he lost the election just like the Jan 6 capitol riot in the US.
Finally, Mexican legislators heard testimony regarding the possibility that extraterrestrials might exist and were presented with the alleged remains of non-human beings in an extraordinary hearing marking the country’s first congressional event on aliens and UFOs🙀.
