Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful day and it's about that time to slow down, get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's dive in 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores.
Later in the afternoon I stopped by the city centre for a couple of errands before heading back home.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Meanwhile the African Climate summit entered day two, Kenyan president said climate change was eating away at Africa's economic progress. Later, the UN secretary general Antonio Guterez emphasized that the world must break free of its addiction to fossil fuels. He added that developed countries must keep their pledges on climate financing💯.
They are so used to pledging, so far billions of dollars have been pledged but nothing comes through yet, these developed countries are the net polluters. Hopefully this time they put their money where their mouths are at😹.
Still on the continent, France was in talks with Niger army about withdrawal of some of its troops😹. Remember they had earlier said they wouldn't leave now they wanna withdraw some? France have been exploiting Africa for so long they are addicted😹. Taking advantage, reaping resources for mediocre prices leaving Africa dirt poor😡.
Lets go to Europe where the UK trending as the seconf biggest city, Birmingham declared financial distress🙀. The english city is home to a million people and admits it cannot balance it's books and blames conservatives for years of underfunding. Who will come to their rescue?
Then in Spain that misogynistic kiss by Luis Rubiales has led to the sacking of the women's team coach Jorge Vilda🙀. He had earlier supported Rubiales and said he saw nothing wrong with the forced kiss. Players have been complaining on the bullying and condescending comments he is fond of making😡
Across the pond in the US, former leader of far right group - proud boys is to be sentenced for his involvement in the 2021 capitol riot. Enrique Tarrio has been convicted of seditious conspiracy among other charges. Prosecutors are seeking a 30 year jail time🙀. I don't know why people get too engrossed in politics, so where is Trump to rescue him?
Meanwhile, the US has warned north Korea would pay a high price if it supplies Russia with weapons🙀. This comes as word went round that Kim jong UN was planning to meet Putin. The Kremlin just said no comment😹.
Finally, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Iran has arrived in the country, and his counterpart has landed in Saudi, cementing a restoration of ties between the gulf rivals after seven year rupture. Remember from January 2024 they will both be members of an expanded BRICS alliance. A global change is slowly loading💯.
