Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so let all the kitties in the world have fun😹. Anyway, it's been a great day and as it fades away, I am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share some of the trending stories that made headlines. Thank you for reading and let's get started 💨.
So as usual, I kicked off early with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning and though it was short walk, I enjoyed the fresh morning breeze💯.
Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a quick stop at the mall for groceries. Next, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of you tube and some soccer matches. As always the EPL had good matches.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.
On the continent, coup supporters in Niger staged a sit in outside the French military base in Niamey. Protesters want about 1,500 French soldiers in the military base to leave immediately🙀. Things are getting thick😹.
Meanwhile, junta leaders in Gabon have reopened the country's borders 3 days after they seized power. The coup leader says he will not rush to hold elections to avoid repeating past mistakes😹.
Globally, Israel trending as more than 100 injured in clashes between rival Eritrean groups🙀. One group against the Eritrean regime and ruler while another group pro the ruler. Witnesses describe a war like situation. The power of politics😹.Eritrea has one of the worst human rights records and has had no free elections in close to 30 years, media is tightly controlled by the totalitarian president, a dictator and a half😹. Those in his favour should not be in Israel, they should be back home with their beloved leader💯.
Elsewhere in TelAviv, the judicial reform rallies got underway, it's the 35th week of protests🙀. Netanyahu will stop at nothing to get what he wants😹.
Not far off in Iraq, a curfew has been imposed in Kirkuk after Kurds and Arabs held rival protests sparked by handover of local security headquarters to Kurds😹. The PM has urged all parties to play their part in preventing strife and preserving stability and order.
Then Pakistan trending as high energy prices provoked a shutdown🙀. Many people saying they cannot afford the high electricity prices. Electricity is up five fold after the government removed fuel subsidies in line with IMF regulations, a plummeting local currency isn't helping the situation😡.
Finally in crazy weather, US president Biden visited storm damaged Florida to see first hand the devastation caused by hurricane Idalia. The Biden administration has asked congress for additional aid to help Florida with recovery efforts. All's well that ends well 💯.
