TGIF 🍻🍷 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us and as always glad you stopped by yet again 👏. It's the first day of September and it's now that time of day to slow down and take a look at how things went and also what's trending in the media streets. Come on, let's take it away 💨.
So I started the day with a short brisk walk around the neighbourhood, today was a little warmer than yesterday which motivated me to keep going. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had some few errands at the city centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breeze🍃.Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.
On the continent, Gabon trending as the opposition have asked the military leaders to finish counting the votes of the just ended elections. They say the coup was a palace revolution as the coup leader was the cousin of deposed president Ali Bongo🙀.
In Niger the military leaders have asked police to arrest and forcibly remove French ambassador after cancelling his and family visas🙀. France still maintained they wouldn't listen or follow directives from the junta leaders😹.
Morocco have began an investigation after two people riding jet skis were shot dead by Algerian coast guards🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families😭
Also trending, Mohamed Al Fayed has died at 94😭. Well known Egyptian former owner of Harrods and Fulham football club . In 1997 he made headlines when his son Dodi Al Fayed died alongside girlfriend Princess Diana in that terrible Paris tunnel crash while running away from paparazzi🙀.
Across the pond in the US, proud boy's member, Dominic, has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for his role in 2021 capitol riots. He was actually the first one to break a window on the building, provoking others to do the same🙀.
Let's go to Asia where Singapore trending as former deputy prime minister won the presidential election🎉. He received 70% of the vote, the role however is mainly ceremonial😹.
Finally in crazy weather, Typhoon Saola is doing the most in Hong Kong with winds of upto 200km/h🙀. Flights grounded, public transport stopped, schools and financial institutions shut as people shelter indoors. It is one of the worst storms to hit the country. Let's hope it comes down soon💯.
