Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending? Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, Ukraine trending as a flagship Russian long range bomber has been destroyed in Ukrainian drone strike🙀. Images posted online show the Tupolev TU 22 on fire 🔥 at an airbase south of St Petersburg. The TU 22 can travel at twice the speed of sound and has been used extensively by Russia to attack cities in Ukraine. Ukraine have not commented but definitely a win for them😹.
UK trending as a cruel, deranged nurse has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing seven infants and attempting to murder six others🙀. A well deserved punishment for her heartless actions💯.
Moscow trending as four people have died after they were trapped underground by flood waters during a guided tour of Moscow's sewer system😭. Several companies offer tours of the city's sewers, some of which date from the 19th century.
Across the pond in the US, president Biden expected to visit Hawaii to see first hand the devastation caused by wild fires 🔥. Meanwhile more than 800 people are still reported to be missing🙀.
Down in Guatemala, Bernardo Arevalo has won the presidential run off🎉. He was running alongside former first lady but he has emerged victorious🎊.
Then Ecuador trending as voters have passed a referendum to prohibit oil drilling in a protected area of the Amazon rainforest🎉. A move hailed as historic by environmental activists💯. The area is often described as a haven for biodiversity.
