Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. It's been just another ordinary day stepping it out. Time to wrap things up and look forward to tomorrow. . Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for stopping by and let's get started 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite sunny 🌞 the entire day even as i walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon as opposed to the cloudy☁️ days we have been having lately.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, that NATO summit in Lithuania kicked off. Bad news for Ukraine as they will not be a member of NATO immediately🙀. There will be no set timetable for membership but they insisted that Ukraine's future will be in NATO just not now.
Meanwhile, Turkey has agreed to back Sweden's bid to join NATO after a year of blocking it's application. A win for Sweden💯.
Turkey has a raft of demands including taming the PKK, upgrading F16 aircrafts, trade deals and the biggest one, joining the EU.
Over in Ukraine, Russia fired 28 drones at various cities, however, 26 of those drones were shot down.
Also trending, people in Bosnia have been marking 28 years since the Srebrenica massacre😭. Dozens more victims were buried after recently being identified through 🧬 DNA analysis.
Finally, anger and protests in Israel after parliament last night passed a key element in the controversial judicial reforms bill🙀. They called it a day of disruption as thousands of protesters blockaded the main airport in Tel Aviv😹, leading to flight delays.
Several arrests were made later as the protesters moved to the main roads and streets. People are worried that judicial reform will water down the powers of the supreme court and reverse the gains made over the years. Seems like the far right govt won't hear none of it. Lets see how that will go.
