Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, we just began the second week of July and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
On the continent, the IGAD summit was held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The leaders of Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and South Sudan called for an end to the war in Sudan and probably lend a hand militarily.
Trending globally, US president Biden met UK PM Rishi Sunak at ten downing street. He then went on to meet King Charles. He will later proceed to Vilnius, Lithuania for the NATO summit.
Speaking of NATO summit, Turkish president has said he will say yes to Sweden joining NATO but wants Turkey made a member of the EU😹. Turkey has been waiting to be a EU member for 50 years🙀.
Meanwhile, NATO leaders will be meeting later to discuss membership of Ukraine and Sweden.
Lets go to Asia, China trending as a deranged man went on a stabbing spree at a kindergarten in the south, killing 6 people😭. Two parents, a teacher and three children were the victims. The 25 year old man was later arrested and investigations are ongoing.
Still in China, there's an ongoing heatwave in many cities with temperatures much higher than what they are supposed to be.
Finally, more crazy weather, this time in South Africa where rare snowfall dusted parts of the country🙀. Weather forecasters warned of potentially dangerous cold temperatures. That cold is blowing way up to Kenya, as it's also colder here than it is this time of year.
