Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so give it up for him and other furry friends 😻. As for me I have had a great day stepping it out ; and just about now I wanna fill you in on how it went and also share some of the trending stories. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
It was a nice morning so I had an amazing session of a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The other time I stepped out was to the mall for groceries around 2 pm. It was a largely cloudy day as I made my way. As always I had my usual afternoon nap, then I got up and had the cooking done.
Finally I had the usual slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze 🍃 .In between I was watching the news and also youtube.So what's been trending in the media streets? Locally a rather quiet day with the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, Ukraine trending as president Zelensky returned home with some prisoners of war from his Turkey trip. The Azovstal commanders were meant to stay imprisoned until the end of the war🙀. Luckily they are back home.
Still in Ukraine, sad news, a Russian rocket attack in the town of Lyman in the Donetsk region killed several people 😭. Today marked 500 days since Russia invaded Ukraine🙀. The war still rages as Ukraine's counter offensive goes on.
Also trending in France, thousands joined marches against police violence. The protesters were also commemorating Adama Traore who died in police custody in 2016, then also the recent 17 year old among others😭.
Let's go across the pond in Colombia where presidents of Brazil and Colombia are meeting at a summit aimed at saving the Amazon rainforest. The Amazon is huge and strides across 9 countries🙀. The environment ministers of some of these countries were also in attendance.
The rate of deforestation in the Amazon is currently at 17%, experts warn that if it gets to over 20% we may be at a point of no return🙀. Hopefully we don't get there and they come up with strategies to protect, grow and preserve the mighty Amazon.
