Happy Caturday 🐈 from Bob and yours truly😹. You definitely know the drill when it comes to Saturday 🐱; Bob and other furry friends are raiding the blockchain😻. Thank you for being here and let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went today including what's trending around the globe. Here we go again💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 and jogging 👟 around the neighborhood 🌲. Today was much warmer than yesterday so I made the most of it in the fresh morning air🍃. Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a stop at the mall for groceries. After a bit of walking and window shopping, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of youtube.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.Its been rainy especially this evening.
Also trending locally, the worst freak road accident occured last night in western Kenya. Where a truck carrying a shipping container,lost control, rammed into a few cars and veered into a roadside open air market killing 52 people🙀. Most of them sellers who were caught unawares. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭.
Globally France still trending after a fourth night of rioting and violence following the shooting of the 17 year old. Over 40k policemen on the ground in various cities and over a thousand people arrested🙀.
Today hundreds of people attended the funeral of the boy who had been laid to rest. Very sad for the mother as he was her only child😭. Meanwhile president Macron cancelled his state visit to Germany as the country goes thru a tough moment.
Also trending in Europe, Dutch king has apologized for Netherlands role in slavery🙀. I guess it's a little too late. This after they earned so much from slavery and only God knows how many lives they ruined😭. The best payback is to come invest in Africa. Talk is cheap💯.
Let's go across the pond, north Argentina trending as indigenous communities protested as large companies are about to be deployed in the area to mine lithium🙀. Let's hope they get more than they deserve as that mining will disrupt their lives big time and thoroughly enrich foreigners at their expense.
Then the UN secretary general Antonio Guterez is in Haiti to assess the humanitarian situation. Haiti has been experiencing years of unrest, gang violence and worsening economic conditions🙀. Children worst affected and in need of urgent aid. Let's hope that visit will yield the much needed help💯.
Finally, the Euclid telescope has blasted off into space from Florida. It will be away on a six year mission to explore the mysteries of our universe, going a distance of more than a million kilometers out there😹. I can't wait to learn what the findings will be.
