Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful day and it's about that time to slow down, get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's dive in 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores.
Later in the afternoon I stopped by the city centre for a couple of errands before heading back home.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, the opposition held a big rally in protest of the controversial finance law that will raise various taxes starting in July. They have vowed to continue with weekly protests😹.
Globally, the Belarusian president has confirmed that Wagner chief, Prigozhin arrived there to live in exile🙀. Other Wagner fighters will also be allowed in Belarus. The ones who want to continue fighting in Ukraine will have to register formally with the Russian army.
Speaking of Ukraine, the Ukrainian army have retaken large areas around Bakmut as the war rages on. The US will be providing another $500 million in military aid. The package includes ground vehicles, armoured personnel carriers and munitions.
Then tragedy in Kramatorsk as deadly missile struck in a crowded area😭.
Across the pond in the US, a 2021 recording of former president Trump seems to show him claim he is holding classified documents😹. That's contrary to his claim that he didn't have any classified documents. The case is coming up for hearing later this year. Let's see how that goes.
Finally, archaeologists have discovered a pizza 🍕 fresco in Pompeii that's close to 2,000 years ago. Seems like they enjoyed it back then too.
