Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful day and it's about that time to slow down, get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's dive in 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores.
Later in the afternoon I stopped by the city centre for a couple of errands before heading back home.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, government has tabled a controversial finance bill that opposition says is unfair taxation 🙀.
Globally, let's start in Ukraine, where the army intercepted 18 drones and missiles fired at the capital Kyiv🎊. Russia fired them early morning before sunrise so as to cause maximum damage.
Also trending in Ukraine, the anti corruption authority have arrested the head of the supreme court in a high level bribery case🙀.
In Germany, five men have been convicted for that jewelry heist at a museum in Dresden in 2019. It was the biggest heist of diamonds and other precious jewels. Fortunately they have all since been recovered.
Across the pond in the US, some founders of chat GPT, have told Congress that govt intervention will be critical to mitigate risks of AI🙀.
It could be quite dangerous in the wrong hands.
Down in Ecuador the president is facing impeachment in the national assembly for alleged corruption 🙀. He however has a chance to dissolve that national assembly before they impeach him😹. Let's see how things will go.
Haiti trending, as the capital Port-au-Prince is overrun with gang violence🙀. Gangs are fighting for control while citizens suffer with schools and hospitals closed in many areas. Life has become unbearable for residents😡.
Finally in crazy weather, flooding has been reported in parts of Somali, one town has been totally submerged displacing nearly 200,000 people🙀. Then in Canada , wild fires reported in some areas as temperatures hover above normal for this time of year.
