Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another ordinary but active day and it's now time to wrap things up and get ready for bed 💤. As always thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending stories. Come on 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite rainy the entire day even as I walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon as opposed to the sunny days we have been having lately.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. The rain has since calmed down. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, also trending, the cult leader and some of his associates were arraigned in court. They convinced their followers to go on deadly fasts and starvation🙀. So far 109 bodies have been dug out, over 200 more people still missing😭 believed to be buried on that 800 acre property.
Meanwhile, Sudan still trending. Today the army and RSF have agreed to a seven day ceasefire brokered by South Sudan president.
Let's hope this one will hold so that help can reach people and others can flee. Despite that ceasefire there has been sporadic gunfire🙀.
Let's go to the middle east, where 22 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza. This after a prominent Palestinian died in an Israeli jail. Khader Adnan was a member of Islamic Jihad and died following 86 days on hunger strike😭.
Across the pond in the US, Hollywood writers are on strike, putting movies and tv shows in jeopardy. They are demanding a pay rise from films and tv stations. Hopefully they get their fair share 💯.
Finally, in Costa Rica, sloths are being researched for antibiotic-producing bacteria found in their fur. Researchers have observed that sloths hardly get infections. They believe this antibiotic can be used in humans for those deadly superbugs that defy available antibiotics. Let's wait and see.
