Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new week/month and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's get cracking 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a quiet day, people off work for Labour Day.
Globally, things not so quiet, in Paris France, angry protesters clashed with police during the May day match. They are angry with the pension reforms that president Macron forced through pushing the retirement age to 64 from 62😹.
It's a day for workers rights but nobody cares what workers go through😡. Most companies are focused on their profits.
Similar marches were held in Istanbul turkey, Seoul south Korea and am sure in other cities too.
Let's go to Sudan, where the UN is warning of mass exodus as fighting intensified despite a ceasefire. It's slowly turning into a full-blown catastrophe🙀. Airstrikes and gunfire kept going.
Speaking of war, Russia unleashed a new wave of bombing across Ukraine🙀, several people injured as 18 missiles were fired early morning before sunrise. Ukraine authorities managed to intercept 15 of the missiles minimizing the damage that would have been caused.
Across the pond in the US, President Biden had reassured the bank system safe after JP Morgan bought first Republic bank😹.
Today he also hosted the Philippines president at the white house.
Finally, in crazy weather, snowfall reported in Oslo Norway and flooding reported in Hyderabad India 🙀.
