Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. We are fast approaching the month of May😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a nice day.
Not a very nice day in Sudan as they entered a 6th day of gunfire and explosions🙀. The two army generals have refused to dialogue both sides blaming each other for failed ceasefire. Meanwhile thousands of people have started fleeing Khartoum.
The UN chief Antonio Gutierrez has urged the two warring sides to declare an Eid ceasefire lasting at least 3 days so as to enable civilians flee. At least 330 civilians are said to have died so far😭.
Across in Yemen, another sad situation as 78 people died in a stampede at a school where hundreds of people had gathered to receive food and cash from a prominent businessman for the upcoming Eid celebration. My sincere condolences 😭.
Let's go to Ukraine where NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg stopped by for talks with president Zelensky. Saying Ukraine deserves to be part of NATO.
Across the pond in the US, Colombian president stopped by the white house for talks with president Biden.
Finally SpaceX launched it's largest and powerful rocket🚀 but unfortunately it exploded minutes after take off🙀. That launch is however a step in the right direction 💯.
