Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Hopefully you are enjoying the weekend, my day has been great. I am so grateful to be alive in this day and age. It's that time to slow down and get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. A short but enjoyable walk.
Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some fruits and veggies. Next came the refreshing nap💤. Then I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news,
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Kenyans shone through at the Madrid marathon 🎊🎉. Ethiopia giving us some competition but we will deal with them😹. Then Kenyan president is on a four day trip to Germany and Belgium.
Also US vice president, Kamala Harris is on a trip to Africa, landing today in Ghana. She will be stopping by neighbouring Tanzania but not Kenya.
Globally, Israel trending as the protests against judicial reforms kept going, large crowds gathered in Tel Aviv for the 12th week. Today the PM Netanyahu, fired defence minister Yoav for taking the protesters side, asking him not to go ahead with changes. The changes would enable the Knesset or parliament to override the supreme court decisions with a simple majority of 61 votes. Critics say the law is designed to protect the PM as he faces a corruption trial😹. That's why he wont stop at anything.
Close by; daylight savings time dispute has put Lebanon in two time zones😹.
Let's go to Europe, where the EU and NATO have condemned Russia's planned positioning of nuclear weapons in Belarus 🙀. Calling it dangerous and irresponsible. Belarus risks more sanctions if this goes ahead.
Finally, across the pond in Cuba, they are having elections for members of the national assembly. The MPs will then go on to vote for the president. Things are quite different over there. There's no opposition so there wasn't any campaigning prior to the election 😹.I have always wondered how Cuba is run.
