Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. We are now onto the new month of March, 2023 is getting older😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and a little bit of twitter. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a nice day.
Over in Nigeria, labour party candidate Peter Obi said he will prove he won the just concluded election. He is headed to court to dispute the announced results. Let's see how that goes😹.
Globally, India trending as the G20 foreign ministers summit came to an end. It ends without a joint communique over the war in Ukraine. Russia's foreign minister Lavrov met his US counterpart Anthony Blinken, no solution in sight to that Ukraine war😡.
Speaking of the war, today a Russian missile hit an apartment block in Zaporizhzhia killing 4 people and injuring several others😭.
In Greece the death toll in that fatal train crash has hit 57😭. Emergency crews are continuing to search the crash scene. People protested as public anger grows. Railway workers across Greece are on strike in protest against rail underfunding. The station master on duty has been arraigned in court, how could he let a freight train get into the track of the passenger train 🙀.
Let's finish down in Chile, where the govt has began militarisation of the northern border to control the entry of unauthorized migrants. Armed soldiers have been patrolling Colchane's border inspecting documents presented by migrants.
