Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully you have had or are having a lovely day😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the mall for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and some you tube. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. Elsewhere in Nigeria, some election violence happened ahead of the presidential vote, leaving a senate candidate dead😭in Enugu🙀.
Globally, the UN general assembly is to vote on demand for Russia to withdraw from Ukraine. UN secretary general has condemned Russia's invasion of a sovereign country, this comes on the eve of one year anniversary.
Across the pond in Ukraine, president Zelensky welcomed Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez. Meanwhile Ukrainian soldiers have repelled Russian forces on the Frontline.
Elsewhere in London, the road leading to the Russian embassy was painted blue and yellow to mimic the Ukrainian flag😹. Tonight the Eiffel tower is lit up in yellow and blue in solidarity with Ukraine. One year later and the war goes on🙀.
Today, Putin said Russia is to deploy sarmat nuclear missiles this year 🙀. This as China spearheads a way to negotiate an end to the war. Something's gotta give, we can't talk of nuclear ever😹.
Finally, let's finish off with some crazy weather. The US has been hit by severe winter storms, Montana and North Dakota with lowest temps, meanwhile the east coast has higher temps than usual 🙀.
Back to Africa, down there, Mozambique is bracing itself for the landfall of tropical cyclone Freddy. Freddy wreaked havoc in Madagascar yesterday causing massive damages🙀.
