Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I guess it's another 24 hours to be grateful for, before the day ends allow me to let you in on how my stepping went including what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for stopping by and let's get cracking 💨..
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and then the afternoon saw me go out to the city centre for some groceries and window shopping. It was a beautiful sunny day as I made my way.
Then I was back home for a short but refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some you tube videos and news. I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk, a rather short one just to stretch out my legs. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, just another quiet Sunday, people relaxing enjoying the weekend before a new work week tomorrow. Over in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia the annual African Union summit came to an end. Leaders have been discussing pertinent issues affecting the continent and how to best solve them.
Globally, Turkey and Syria still trending as rescue efforts come to an end with the death toll at 46,500 but expected to rise as many people have not been accounted for😭. WHO estimates that close to 2.6 million people are in need of immediate humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile in Ankara, US secretary of state, Blinken arrived in Turkey. America has pledged 100 million dollars towards the disaster 🎊🎉.
Before that Blinken was at the last day of the Munich summit in Germany where he met top Chinese diplomat, warning China against helping Russia in that war in Ukraine 😹.
Speaking of the war, fighting continued in the east. Meanwhile Moscow says it's making strides after capturing a village in Kharkiv 🙀.
Finally, 5 people are reported to have been killed after an Israeli missile attack on a building close to a security complex in Damascus Syria 😹. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭.
