Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. As always I am grateful for this day, trust me, there are many who wanted to see it but couldn't so we are blessed to be here💯. Sunday is that day of gratitude and reflection. So thank you for stopping by and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get cracking 💨.
So as usual, I began the day with the fast paced morning session. Brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighborhood 🌲, enjoying the cool morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting and then later my usual daily chores. I had a big pile of laundry to get through. Then I also kept abreast with the trending news and emails. Later in the afternoon I had a little bit of walking going to the mall for some groceries and window shopping. I was back indoors for the usual refreshing nap. The evening came fast and I woke up to cooking, watching a bit of youtube. Then I was out as the sun was setting to enjoy the slow paced evening walk that winds down my day. It was wonderful 🥰.
Finally let's quickly look at what was trending in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, Turkey and Syria still trending after that horrendous earthquake. The death toll has now gone over 35,000🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭.
There were a few miracles of people still being found alive today too. It motivates the rescuers who are still searching even as hope for those trapped under the rubble fades.
Meanwhile an arrest warrant has been issued for more than 100 contractors🙀 for the collapsed building most of which didn't follow the building codes. Looters who took advantage of the situation to steal from shops are being arrested continually.
Elsewhere in Portugal, thousands of teachers went on strike demanding better pay as inflation rate spiked.
Still in Europe Cypriots have been voting in a tight presidential run off election. The former foreign minister has emerged the winner, congratulations 🎉🎊.
Finally, across the pond in the US, tonight is the Superbowl, may the best team win. I won't wait up to the half-time performance by Rihanna, I think it will be 4 or 5am in my neck of the woods 😹. I will just watch it online tomorrow.
