Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I am definitely grateful for this day💯, the very last of January. It's been another ordinary day and it's now time to wrap things up and get ready for bed 💤. As always thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending stories. Come on 💨.
So as usual I had two major walking sessions. Starting off with the fast paced morning session that was quite enjoyable in the fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the little daily household chores. Later in the afternoon I stopped by the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. I squeezed my nap into the rest of the afternoon. Then the final evening walk happened before I got back home safe and sound calling it a day. Of course in between I was watching the news including crypto , lets get into that next.
Trending locally, the usual political shenanigans😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
The DRC trending as Pope Francis arrived in the country on a six day visit. He was warmly welcomed by large crowds and later met the president. He blamed the current conflict happening there as a poison of greed. DRC is a vast country with lots of minerals, the main reason it's not peaceful 🙀.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russian attacks hit east in Donetsk. One of president's Zelensky adviser has warned the war could slowly get into the EU if Ukraine doesn't get enough weapons 🙀.
Meanwhile Russia has claimed a village near the embattled city of Bakmut.
Also trending in Europe, today saw an interruption in services in France as a new wave of strikes took place. Workers protesting the pension reforms that have raised the retirement age to 64😹.
Let's go to the middle east, Israel trending as the US secretary of state, Blinken continued his trip, today had talks with Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. He continued criticizing the illegal settlements but still stressed US support for Israel 🙀.
Close by in Pakistan, the death toll from yesterday's suicide bombing reached 102😭. Authorities still questioning the breach/lapse in security since it's a police compound and most killed were policemen🙀.
Finally, let's finish off with some interesting news. A green coloured comet is expected to be visible to stargazers on Wednesday as it shoots past earth 🌎 and the sun 🌞 for the first time in about 50,000 years. Discovered less than a year ago, the comet last passed near earth during the neanderthal times🙀. It will be visible with binoculars, telescopes and in some areas, the naked eye. I guess I will just wait for the pictures 😹.
