Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Just another ordinary day and the stepping continued unabated. As always I am truly happy and grateful for this day💯. Thank you for being here yet again and before bedtime, let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also some of the trending stories. Here we go again, come on 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was short walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some groceries. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news, There was also some interesting football matches going on. I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. In Kenya efforts are underway to save the northern white rhino 🦏. There are only two surviving females🙀. Last year the only male died so scientists are using IVF to see if the females can conceive. Best of luck otherwise that will be an extinct species.
Still in Africa, Tunisia held the second round of Parliamentary elections and believe it or not only 11% of the population took part 😹.
Globally, Israel trending as tensions soared. PM Netanyahu has succumbed to harsh security measures, urging Israelis to carry weapons. Meanwhile, the family home of the Palestinian gunman who killed 7 Israelis has been sealed for demolition 🙀, so has the home of the 13 year old that wounded two Israeli settlers.
Also trending, US secretary of state, Blinken arrived in Cairo Egypt on his tour of the middle east. Next week he will be meeting the Israeli PM amid all that tensions.
Elsewhere in the UK, PM Sunak has fired conservative party chairman, Zahawi after tax investigation 🙀. Meanwhile in Ukraine, heavy fighting reported in Donetsk as Wagner group targeted a village.
Finally let's finish down under, Novak Djokovic beat Tsitsipas to win his tenth Australian open title 🎉🎊. This puts him at par with Rafael Nadal, both have 22 grand slam titles to their names. I still remember when he was deported because of covid vaccine issues. Just goes to show us, never give up or lose hope, situations do change💯.
