Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, reading a few stuff before bedtime. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, the govt announced new measures to collect maximum tax from mobile money users. I think they should target the rich and not the struggling ones.
Globally, Ukraine trending, today European Council president stopped by in Kyiv for talks with president Zelensky. Ukraine is still pleading for weapons especially German tanks as the war rages on in the Donbas region.
Elsewhere in France, large protests in Paris as workers from various sectors protested Macron's pension reforms. He wants the retirement age raised from 62 years to 64 years😹.
Across the pond in the US, famous actor Alec Baldwin is to be charged with involuntary manslaughter 🙀. This for the accidental shooting that happened in 2021 on the set of the Rust movie. A woman was killed when he shot the gun as they rehearsed.
Also trending in Iraq, four people were killed in a stampede at a stadium in Basra😭. This happened when fans overwhelmed security and started rushing into the 🏟️ stadium 🙀. Most of them even had no tickets.
Finally, down under in New Zealand, prime minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that she will be resigning from office next month🙀.Whatever led her to this? She's probably had enough😹.
