Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully you are having a great day as you continue soaking in the new year😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. So today I didn't have the morning walk as I felt so lazy from being up too late yesterday😹. So I had a little bit of outdoor stretches then I was back indoors for some resting, Then did a little bit of daily chores. Then later catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the mall for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and some you tube. I did enjoy the cool evening breeze 🍃 and beautiful sunset. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, the president and his cabinet away at a hotel far from the city discussing how to make their government successful.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Putin ordered a three day ceasefire to mark the orthodox Xmas. Ukraine officials have dismissed it as hypocrisy and propaganda 😹. They want Russians out of Ukraine like yesterday.
Still in Europe, UK railworkers went on a two day strike demanding for better pay and good working conditions 💯. Then at the Vatican a funeral service was held for former Pope Benedict. He was later laid to rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace 💯.
Across the pond in the US, the political shenanigans 😹 of electing a new speaker kept going Kevin McCarthy has not managed to get the majority he needs. Meanwhile the house cannot conduct any service until a new speaker is elected 😹. Let's keep watching how this unfolds.
Also trending, president Biden has launched a new immigration process for people coming from Haiti, Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela. They should apply from their home countries instead of coming to the border. Anyone coming in illegally will be deported. This to avoid chaos at the US Mexican border 💯.
Finally let's finish in the middle east where the longest serving Palestinian prisoner has been released from an Israeli Jail🙀. He was jailed at age twenty six in 1983 for killing an I sraeli soldier. Now at 66 he will have to learn how to cope up with a totally different world.
