Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully you are enjoying the holiday season as we await the new year😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So today I didn't have the morning walk as I got up with some stubborn headache. So I had a little bit of outdoor stretches then I was back indoors for some resting, took some painkiller and a little bit of daily chores. Then later catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the mall for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and some you tube. I did enjoy the cool evening breeze 🍃 and beautiful sunset. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day people just going about their day enjoying the festive season.
Globally, Brazil trending as the news of the death of football legend Pele dropped 😭. The world is paying tribute to the king of football who died at the age of 82 after a battle with colon cancer. He is the only player to win three world cups 🎊🎉 and he will always remain a star, may his soul rest in eternal peace 💯.
Across the pond in the Uk, celebrated fashion designer Vivienne Westwood died at the age of 81. She was largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream. May her soul rest in eternal peace too💯.
Also trending today, Putin today attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure with a record 60 missiles 🙀. 54 of which were shot down by Ukraine defence missiles👋. Then political shenanigans 😹 as a stray Ukrainian defense missile strayed into Belarus. Belarus then summoned the Ukraine envoy.
Trending in the middle east, Benjamin Netanyahu returns as prime minister of Israel's most far right govt. He is PM for a record 6th time🙀.
Finally, there are reports of a covid surge in China. Let's hope it goes away without the need to result to the earlier drastic measures.
