Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Its yet another 24 hours to be grateful for 💯, We are literally two days away from a brand new year😹. I have had a great day and as it draws to a close am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. I did enjoy my walk and was back indoors an hour, thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, most people still enjoying the festive season waiting for the new year.
Close by in Ethiopia, tears and prayers as flights resumed to Tigray region👋.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia intensified its attacks on the city of Kherson, bombing many targets including a maternity hospital 🙀. Remember last month Kherson was liberated after months of Russian occupation.
Still in Europe, Kosovo shut main border crossing with Serbia amid protests 🙀.
Also trending, Turkey, Syria and Russian defense ministers held talks in Moscow.
In the middle east, Israeli PM, Netanyahu has said west Bank settlement expansion is a top priority 🙀. He announced this a day before his far-right government is set to be sworn into office.
Across the pond in the US, a respite to the cold weather on the east coast as temps rose a little 👋. However, crazy weather on the other side as North California, Oregon, Seattle experienced flooding 🙀.
Finally, Brazil's top court banned 🚫 guns from the capital ahead of the tense inauguration ceremony. This after supporters of far- right president Jair Bolsonaro called for a coup to prevent transition of power🙀.
