So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies around the park. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. Close by in DRC the M23 rebels have pledged to retreat from some key areas as a goodwill gesture. Lets hope peace is coming in that region💯.
Globally, France trending as a deranged gunman killed atleast three in an attack at a Kurdish community centre in Paris😭. The same man had just been relased from jail for attacking a migrant in 2021. The hate in this one is strong🙀. There were protests after this attack. The man was arrested but is hospitalized with some injuries.
Elsewhere in the UK, border force workers began 8 days of industrial action for better pay. The government still refuses to talk to the union🙀, so you are warned of delays if you will be traveling to or from the UK. In Germany, an intelligence officer has been arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia 🙀.
Across the pond in the US, congressional committee released it's report on the Jan 6 riots. The panel accused Trump of conspiring to overturn the election results. Let's see what follows next.
Meanwhile, the crazy cold weather continued, more than a million people without power🙀. Many places with below zero temperatures
In Asia, women protested in Afghanistan against the Taliban directive to ban them from universities.
Over in China, one day tally of covid cases in China hit 37 million 🙀. In other news the Chinese foreign minister has warned the US not to cross its redline😹. He was speaking to Blinken over the phone, accused US of bullying them.
