Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. We are fast approaching the holiday season😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, no world cup match today as we wait for the last two matches on Saturday and Sunday. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a nice day.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Kherson and Kharkiv hit by missile strikes as always targeting the energy grid. 40 rockets fired at Donetsk where a hospital and apartment block were damaged, deaths reported 😭. Putin has said there will be no Xmas ceasefire 🙀.
Then political shenanigans 😹 in Turkey as Istanbul mayor was sentenced to 3 years in prison for insulting electoral officials 🙀. That was yesterday and today the opposition parties organized protests against the sentencing as it turns out that it was a move meant to stop him from running in the next elections against current president Erdogan 😹.
In the UK, the bank of England has raised interest rates to 3.5% to try to reduce inflation. Today nurses went on strike demanding higher wages to make ends meet 💯.
Across the pond in the US, the US Africa summit kept going with trade deals being made. President Biden is backing African union to become a permanent G20 member. I don't know what took him so long😹. A large amount of resources come from Africa anyway.
Let's finish with some crypto news, Binance founder insisted business as usual after close to 1 billion dollars was pulled off the exchange in one day🙀. Meanwhile at the FTX senate hearing, Kevin O'Leary claimed that Binance put FTX out of business 😹, a total lie as we all know SBF clearly stole/ mismanaged customer funds.
So that's it, do check me out yet again tomorrow on an amazing high five Friday 🙌. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max 💯. Nothing much to add but bid you adieu 💖💞💖 Take care, Hakuna Matata.
