TGIF ✨ and a very warm welcome to my world 😊.As always I am so grateful for this day. They call it black Friday with discounts on many products and services, I saw all these ads.
It's been wonderful stepping it out 💯, now that it's almost bedtime 💤 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I started the day with lots of brisk walking around the neighbourhood, today was a little warmer than yesterday which motivated me to keep going. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had to get something to cook from the shopping centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breeze🍃.Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news and also the world cup, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹. Elsewhere in the DRC the M23 rebels refused to leave territory they have unfairly acquired🙀,this contrary to calls of East African leaders two days ago.
Globally, China trending as they reported record high positive covid cases for the second day in a row🙀. Today 32k cases compared to yesterday's 31k. Lockdowns underway in most cities as china sticks to it's strict zero covid policy 😹. There were protests in Xin Jiang as people got fed up and asked for an end to restrictions.
In Brussels, there was an emergency EU migration meeting to discuss the issue of migrants. Italy and France earlier disagreed on responsibility for migrants arriving by sea. In 2022, a total of 280,000 people arrived on the shores of Europe 🙀. Italy wants other nations to bear some of that responsibility. Over in Ukraine, authorities reported ten killed and dozens wonded in Russian airstrikes in Kherson 🙀.
Finally, let's get into some football shenanigans 😹. Today host nation Qatar, eliminated after a defeat from African champions Senegal. Just now England and USA have ended in a goal less draw. Earlier another draw between Netherlands and Ecuador. Iran were winners today against Wales 👋. The first round of games is over and am looking forward to tomorrow's games 😹.
