Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get cracking 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. It was drizzling when I came back indoors, now I hear full on rain. So in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of the world cup.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Elsewhere in Angola Luanda, peace talks between DRC and Rwanda went on. These to try and reconcile M23 rebels and Congolese army. They have caused havoc and displacement of thousands of people in Eastern DRC🙀.
Globally, Ukraine trending as 67 Russian missiles targeted more power grids across the country 🙀. This time half of neighbouring Moldova has been affected too. Massive blackouts and lack of water is being experienced.
In Kyiv 6 people killed when one of the rockets hit a residential apartment and in Zaporizhzhia, an infant was killed in a hospital bombing 😭.
Elsewhere Turkey, has bombed up to 500 Kurdish targets in North Syria and Iraq🙀. Turkish president has said he may have to send ground troops.
Over in Israel, twin bombs went off at two bus stops in West Jerusalem killing a teenage boy😭. The bombs planted in bags and placed at those bus stops🙀.
Finally, let's get into some football shenanigans 😹. Today a shock defeat for Germany as they were beaten by Japan in their opening game🙀. Spain on the other hand white washed Costa Rica 7 goals in their opening game 👋. Right now Belgium is head to head with Canada. Belgium leading.
