Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I have had another great day that am deeply thankful for. So we are bang in the middle of the week and the stepping continued unabated. Time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been plus what caught my eye 👀 in the media streets. Here we go again, come on 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃.In between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also in crypto.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Also trending, the South African president stopped by in Nairobi for bilateral talks with his Kenyan counterpart. Then protests outside the on going COP27 summit🙀. Third world countries feeling short changed by richer nations when it comes to climate funding.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia announced that they were pulling out of Kherson 👋. Remember they had annexed that area. Ukraine still not believing Russia as they showed no sign of pulling out. Elsewhere a row between Italy and France over migrant ships continued🙀. Meanwhile protests in Greece over raising costs of living.
Elsewhere across the pond in the US, the anticipated red wave of Republican win didn't manifest as the exit polls had predicted😹. What is happening is a tight race for congress and senate.
Meanwhile, tech companies laying off employees 🙀. Last week was twitter, today meta firing 11k people constituting 13% of workforce. Lyft and strippe also letting workers go.
Finally, Binance announced yesterday it was buying out FTX exchange which went bankrupt 🙀, they first wanted to do some due diligence. The FTT token price dropped over 80%, BTC and entire market down too. Probably more trouble ahead for crypto as Binance have announced that they may not buy FTX after all 🙀.
