TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us, I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive in this day and age💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's take it away💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon to the shopping centre for groceries. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, concerns raised over continuing drought in parts of the country.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Putin called for evacuation of citizens from Kherson 🙀. This as the Ukrainian soldiers made major advancements in their bid to retake that region👋.
In more political shenanigans, former Pakistani PM Imran Khan, has accused the sitting govt of trying to assassinate him🙀. Has vowed to return to the road protests as soon as he heals from gunshot to the leg.
Across the pond in the US, Elon Musk who earlier took over Twitter has continued with layoffs of employees 🙀. Twitter has about 7,500 employees and close to half will be laid off😭. He is doing it through email, some calling it insensitive. The richest man will be collecting $8 from all verified accounts😹.
Let's finish off with climate matters. The climate change conference kicked off in Egypt today, charting solutions to global warming. Yesterday UN warned that glaciers will melt by 2050 if something is not done. We have snow on mount Kilimanjaro and mount Kenya, I don't know why I haven't been there😹, have to visit there one of these days before it melts off.
Over in new Delhi, they can't breathe as smog covered parts of the city🙀.
In Rome some climate activists poured soup on a van Gogh painting then glued their hands to the wall😹. This climate thing, my goodness.
