Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are nearly done with October. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, a new week and I have had a great day. So it's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye 👀. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
It was another cloudy morning as I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. The walking got me all warmed up and I jogged a bit towards the end. Then I was indoors for some of the usual indoor chores. I was on you tube and also watched the news throughout the day. Next walking came in the afternoon getting some veggies to cook. I later had my usual refreshing nap and then finally my evening slow paced walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. I feel like the day flew by very fast.
So what's been trending?, locally a little bit of the usual political shenanigans😹. A shocking case in which a prominent Pakistani journalist was shot and killed close to Nairobi🙀. He had been a critic of the army and govt of Pakistan, he had said his life was in danger and had fled Pakistan. They were probably on his trail, seems like he had some wicked enemies. My sincere condolences to his family😭, lets hope the truth of that murder comes to light one day.
On a lighter note, Happy Diwali to those celebrating, people had wished for it to have been a public holiday but the govt kept mum and it was a normal working day😹.
Globally, UK trending as the conservative party chose Rishi Sunak as the new prime minister 👋. So I guess it was a happy Diwali for him. At 42, he will be the youngest PM this century and also the first pm of Asian origin. It's not going to be easy as he inherits a troubled economy 🙀.
Across the pond in the US, the Michigan school shooter pleaded guilty and will probably get life without parole 🙀. In a new school shooting today, a deranged gun man opened fire at a school in Missouri killing two people and injuring six people. My sincere condolences 😭.
In Myanmar, at least 60 people have been killed by an airstrike in Kachin state🙀. The UN concerned about the military attacking its own people.
Finally, in crazy weather, evacuations underway in parts of Bangladesh as a strong cyclone approaches.
