Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's a new week and the stepping continued unabated. As always I am so grateful for this day💯. Alright, time to wrap things up and look back at how my day turned out including some of the trending stories I came across. Buckle up and let's get going 💨.
So just like yesterday I got the day started with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a nice sunny morning with some fantastic breeze🍃. Next I was back indoors where I rested, watched the news, did the little daily chores etc. My next walking came in the afternoon going for a few groceries at the shopping centre. Then I came back home did a little bit of crypto and politics youtube. Fell asleep for the afternoon nap, so refreshing as always. Then the last walking was the slow paced evening walk after 6pm, nice way to end the day. Next lets take a look at what's been trending.
Locally, political shenanigans kept going 😹, the newly elected ministers were getting vetted by parliament.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russian drones hit targets in Kyiv including a residential apartment block this morning 🌄. Four people reportedly died😭, my sincere condolences to the bereaved families. Ukrainian authorities reporting that the kamikaze drones used were Iranian made🙀.
Elsewhere in the UK the new prime minister failed to appear before parliament for questioning. However, the new finance minister reversed tax measures announced three weeks ago 🙀.
More political shenanigans 😹 in Sweden as the parliament elected a prime minister backed for first time by the far right 🙀.
Across the pond in Haiti, a humanitarian crisis is loading. There's insecurity due to excessive gang violence and it's causing shortages of food and fuel. On top of that there's an ongoing outbreak of cholera 🙀.
Another shocking incident in the Russian port city of Yeysk as a fighter jet crashed into a nine storey building. I have no idea what led to that crash.
Finally, lets end with some good news, French striker and real Madrid football player Karim Benzema has won this year's prestigious Ballon D'or in Paris. Congratulations to him 👏, he becomes the 66th winner and 5th French man to win it.
