Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so give it up for him and other furry friends 😻. As for me I have had a great day stepping it out this first day of October; and just about now I wanna fill you in on how it went and also share some of the trending stories. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
It was a nice morning so I had an amazing session of a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The other time I stepped out was to the shopping center for veggies and fruits around 1 pm. It was a largely cloudy day as I made my way. As always I had my usual afternoon nap, then I got up and had the cooking done. There was some interesting EPL football going on, so I caught some of that action. Finally I had the usual slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze 🍃 .In between I was watching the news and also youtube.
So what's been trending in the media streets? Locally a rather quiet day with the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, Russian troops abandoned the garrison town of Lyman in Donetsk after being overwhelmed by Ukrainian soldiers 😹. Remember Donetsk is one of the regions Russia has annexed. Let's wait and see their next move.
Elsewhere in Sofia, Bulgaria, there was a launch of a major pipeline between Greece and Bulgaria that will supply gas from Azerbaijan thus reducing dependence on Russia 👋.
In Latvia, they were holding parliamentary election, polls predicting victory for the incumbent coalition.
Across the pond in Brazil, the hotly contested presidential elections are tomorrow, so will it be Bolsonaro or Lula? Let's wait and see, but polls showing Lula ahead.
Finally, people continue to count losses in Florida and Carolinas after Hurricane Ian passed. Many still without power and clearing of debris going on. In Cuba, people protested against the government for leaving most areas without power several days after the hurricane . They say officials are dragging their feet and power is off in areas not damaged by that hurricane 🙀.
