Hello everyone 👋,
TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us, I have had a great day, the last one of the month👋. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive in this day and age💯. So it's time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some cooking groceries from the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. I got the cooking going, watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. The new ministers began moving into office as the previous ones hand over.
Globally, Ukraine trending, today the president, Zelensky applied for a fast track NATO membership after Russian annexation of the four regions in the east.
Elsewhere, celebrations in red square, Moscow during which Putin gave a defiant speech recognizing the four regions as part of Russia 🙀. He signed documents and vowed to defend the regions by all means.
Across the pond in the US, Biden accused Putin of trampling on the united nations charter and announced severe sanctions. The EU will also react similarly. Meanwhile in NY, Russia vetoed UN security council bid against Ukraine . India, China, Gabon and Brazil abstained from the vote😹.
Elsewhere, hurricane Ian made landfall in south Carolina after battering Florida. It's left flooding and many people without power 🙀.
