TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us, I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive in this day and age💯. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some cooking groceries from the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. I got the cooking going, watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. The new parliament and Senate set to open next week.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia organized referendum in 4 areas including Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, a vote which will determine if they become part of Russia 🙀😹. Ukraine, NATO and US calling it a sham and violation of the UN charter. Russia did the same in 2014 and illegally acquired Crimea.
Over in Russia, lots of traffic seen at the borders with Finland and Kazakhstan🙀. Flights out fully booked too as some people opt not to participate in a meaningless war.
Elsewhere in Syria, at least 76 people have drowned off the coast while en-route to Europe 😭. Poverty and failing economies forcing people to take the dangerous journeys.
Trending in the UK, the pound has fallen to a 37 year low against the dollar due to tax cuts and lifting of caps on bankers bonuses. The finance minister looking to reduce inflation and spur economic growth.
Finally, we are still watching bitcoin and the crypto market as analysts claim the bottom isn't in yet.
