Last week I did a post about the lack of coins the bussiness had and the result prompted other business to slow and stop giving changes to customers altogether.
At the time I wrote the previous post, few stores were doing it.
It seems the problem is universal and more businesses are following this trend.
This is not new since we see cashless registers are gaining momentum.
If you go to Wally World, there is lines but not because they do not have cashiers, it is because people are checking all at once in self checkout registers. The coin shortage is really serious and I hope they stop it altogether to implement another program to give change back. It will take time to grow but they need to start somewhere.
I did mention WAWA the other day. I did some gas and purchase a drink. The cashier forgo the price of the drink to save on giving me changes.
Since there is a lack of changes in the bank, they ask people to bring changes for them.
It is funny that the businesses have to pay for the changes to be rolled.
Any news about the evolution of fiat, coins currency intrigued me a little. It is a problem
with an easy solution. Adaptation at its best.
I vouch for blockchain to fix this dilemma.
Can you believe a world where crypto mingled with fiat money?
It is already in the making. My idea is that you go places, where you can pay with both
at the same time. This should be a priority. The benefit will be tenfold for all of us.
Another aspect that should concern the consumers. We tend to decide the change
we need to see. Asking business is not enough. The more digital we go, the more it will be possible
for business to set themselves to use crypto.
It could be a long way home. In the meantime, if possible avoid using cash altogether.
I rarely use cash lately. Less germs and easy way to transact.
This is a signal for the beginning of something good.
Digital is running through us. This is the new form of this century monetary asset.
Be safe and stay safe.
