I was heartened today to see the leaders of North and South Korea together, forging a way forward for peace in Korea.
Kim Jong-Un became the first North Korean leader since 1953 to set foot in South Korea, and in an unscripted moment, South Korean President Moon Jae-in was guided by Kim to spend a few moment past the demilitarised zone in North Korea.
The abc reported "North and South Korea vow 'no more war', agree to 'complete denuclearisation' of peninsula". This is a major step toward removing one of the pressure points of global tensions.
The meeting was cermenious, and staged, but the leaders conveyed a genuine warmth toward each other.
I, for one, was in awe of this historic meeting. Seeing two men and their families changing decades of tension and rhetoric in a few moments. I thought it was beautiful.
It shows the power of people coming together. I hope this is the beginning of a new era of peace not just in Korea but the world over.
