In 2013 I came for the first time to the Philippines to attend an underwater photography workshop. One day we were going to make a sunset dive to see the mandarin fish. These are very shy fishes and come out at sunset to mate. It's a wonderful dance. While I was waiting for the other dives I saw one of the boat crew standing and watching over the sea. The setting was stunning so I quickly took this picture.
Sadly I don't have any picture from the mandarin fishes. I tried, but my strobe was not working. I couldn't identify the problem and was going through all the settings. Just before I came here I had bought a complete new camera set and I thought I did something wrong. After a bit I just gave up and left my camera aside while watching the mating dance. After the dive I saw that the optical cable was not connected anymore hence the strobe was not working.
So no pictures of the mandarine fish, but a lovely sunset picture... You just can't have it all 馃ぃ

I just checked the exif, the picture was taken on august 31, 2013 ...
