The Naples Zoo was founded in 1940 in Fuorigrotta, in the Mostra d'Oltremare area. It is the second zoo opened in Italy, after that of Rome, with the aim of hosting numerous animals of various species. Throughout the second half of the 20th century, the Naples zoo was famous throughout Europe. Since the 1980s, the Zoo has experienced a long period of neglect due to accumulated debts but in 2013, thanks to the financial help of the entrepreneur Francesco Floro Flores, this important cultural heritage has been recovered and I want to invite all of you to visit it. .
