A few weeks ago, when I was kinda a little bit bored, I started to paint a single shell and that turned into a massive project! You won't hear me complain! I love it and I make kids happy!
Kids are hunting down bears, other hunt down geo caches, so why not hunt snails? Yupp, I put them into the wild and they are called lovebugs! No, not ladybugs, lovebugs because they spread love and a smile! I created a FB page and hoped for the best! It's always a guess if people will hunt them down at all BUT... Within a few days, they started to pick them up! On the posts, I add a geo-code that will lead them to where they need to be, give or take and inside they will find a note asking them to send me a message when they take it home. I do this because sometimes, a passer by will spot the lovebug and take it home. So far, 4 lovebugs have been taken away without a mention. Sad in a way because 3 of them were hunted down by kids later that week and they came home empty handed.
It's amazing to see the happy kids on the pictures they send me! Funny fact is that they also contact me with requests! Who would have thought that something so simple could make so many kids and peeps smile!. I don't ask anything in return but a small message! Honestly, its not that expensive! I buy the shells at the Action for 0.99 euro cent a bag. In those bags are between 12 and 18 shells depending on size! I already have enough paint so all it cost me is a single euro and some time!
We place them in the evenings when it's still light but too lae for the kids to hunt! That way, if they want, they can hunt them down the next morning! Depending on time, we place around 4 and 8 a day and sometimes we don't place them at all. I try to add new colors every now and then as well. Some serious collect all collllorssss! I am a happy snek!
