When I was 14 years old, the first job that I ever had was working as a kennel tech at a boarding facility down the street from my home. I never once thought that I would help take care of 23 dogs with my boyfriend, in Alaska at the age of 30. That is the crazy thing about life, you just never know where you are going to end up.
Yesterday, I ended up finding enough courage to attempt to clip Mary's toenails. I have seen it done before and I remember my sister was really good at it, so I thought I would give it a try. After many Youtube tutorials on clipping dog's toenails, I gave it a whirl.
Mary kept moving a lot and my biggest fear was cutting her nerve and having it bleed. With some help, we were able to hold her still and trim off the tips of each of her toenails. A little is better than none and her nails remain long. I think it was a good first time experience for both Mary and I, and I think Ill try again later.
