This beautiful wolf was caught in a forgotten snare, days after trapping season was over😡, about 50 ft from her flagger station. Two amazing University of Alaska, Fairbanks students, working on studies of high hare population with migration of lynx and other animals going north, came across her. She just laid there, almost like "l surrender, I give up". With the help of crew workers, locals and UAF, they where able to release the snare. With a burst of fighting energy she was set free and she took off to the river with a hurt and swollen paw.
Wolves are known to chew there foot off when caught. You can see where she was gnawing at her leg and probably thrashing around by the blood and evidence all around her. For me, wolves hold significant meaning and have a high vibrational balance. They are amazing creatures that give our environment the healthy balance it needs to thrive. I hope this wolf heals in peace. 💫❤
